OVERHEARD IN THE STREAM SATURDAY

No one is without blame and we all live in glass houses... COLO

The process of changing from a victim into a survivor is called recovery but recovery asks much of those who choose to heal ...KK TAYLOR

That's just a pitfall of blogging....we don't meet people in person. they are more like pen pals we don't meet.this is not a perfect world..RIVER RAT

This community will become even stronger for this experience. Let's go back to supporting each other, laughing together and just being here for one another. MAMA BEAR

Your mention of writing words can be very cruel as well as spoken. I sometimes see the written more cruel than spoken - there isn't the human element on the other side.  CHANDA

I got a few friends on here..that I do know..friends stand by you..friends don't change with the weather..friends don't look for a way to use you..friends are a are gift  CRACKER

So many wonderful people, so many wonderful blogs to read and learn from and grow. If people could only remember their happy places and happy faces!!!!! and begin commenting from there then perhaps the back biting and the hurting and lashing out could come to an end. The peace of the stream is still here, everyone just has to look for it again.....MACKENZIE

Everybody just breathe. I mean really. There is enough oxygen for all of us. Hold your breath long enough, and you will just get all blue in the face, and eventually fall on the floor laughing or crying. Shit if I'm gonna fall on the floor crying.  BIGGIE T

I can only hope that the dust will settle gently yet when it does, each person will have to look at their own reflection in the mirror and see how they represented themselves their own actions and behaviors to the people surrounding us who we have called friends... The question will be... Do you like what you see?  POLAR BEAR

If I apologize for shouting about my beliefs and opinions, it doesn't necessarily mean I don't still have my beliefs and opinions. It means I'm not going to shout at people and try to convince them that I'm right. Even people who disagree should have respect for each other.

Trust is something earned and that is so hard online.   MARY

My guess is that the vast majority, if not every one, of the people posting on blogstream and participating in the events of this last week DO care very deeply about people - - men, women, and children - - who've been victims of any kind of abuse.  VALKYRIE

We all were at fault by letting our guard down, and I think we have all learned a blogging lesson.  We must not get so carried away that we leave ourselves vulnerable.....
We must remember that some people are not what they seem......Just like in the real world, so in the blogstream world....HEIDE
Let the healing begin to heal the wounds which have beem opened- Take my hand friend and tomorrow will be a brighter day.  POLAR BEAR

And I extend this prayer to our community. Members of our blogstream, I implore you to go to your blog this day and post your heartfelt forgiveness to someone. No apologies, no ifs, no ands, no buts, no emoticons. Just your healing words of forgiveness.   LAGNIAPPE

We can only allow ourselves to be victims IF we allow it, at least the suffering that we come (become) that lives, eats, breathes, emanates etc the crud that tries so hard to eat us alive...MISTRESS REBA

Luck favors the prepared. Although I don't believe in the concept of luck, the principle is, that being prepared, can help one understand/deal with a situation. "Trust No One" can be said too. But too much distrust and apathy can work in just the same fashion as one who is prepared at all, or too inviting.   ADAM WARLOCK

There is a real story of interaction between humans that is both depressing and magical in this environment.  MARC

It was not fire, but water

That consumed me, tears

For the lost, for the lonely,

And the heartbroken.  Tears

For the humble, for the hungry,

And more.  Then for the mighty, the proud,

And the ones who don't care what harm they do

In the name of All that is Good.

This river carried me, tumbled me,

Bruised me, tossed me, and washed me

Ashore.  I rested and remembered

Who I am.  I stood, I lifted my hands

To the heavens.  I stand, I will be

Who I am

Daisy

 Rainbow Clouds

June 19, 2006—It looks like a rainbow that's been set on fire, but this phenomenon is as cold as ice.

Known in the weather world as a circumhorizontal arc, this rare sight was caught on film on June 3 as it hung over northern Idaho near the Washington State border.

The arc isn't a rainbow in the traditional sense—it is caused by light passing through wispy, high-altitude cirrus clouds. The sight occurs only when the sun is very high in the sky (more than 58° above the horizon). What's more, the hexagonal ice crystals that make up cirrus clouds must be shaped like thick plates with their faces parallel to the ground.

When light enters through a vertical side face of such an ice crystal and leaves from the bottom face, it refracts, or bends, in the same way that light passes through a prism. If a cirrus's crystals are aligned just right, the whole cloud lights up in a spectrum of colors.

This particular arc spanned several hundred square miles of sky and lasted for about an hour, according to the London Daily Mail.

—Victoria Gilman

I dedicate these clouds...a gift of God to the lost children of Quarryville, PA. The clouds can be analyzed and explained by science. What happened to the  children defies nature and human understanding.

Check Your Torches at the Door or Throwing My Rocks in the Stream

As we turn the corner on the Autumnal equinox, and celebrate the birth of the stream, I continue to be amazed at the convergence of my life at home and my life in the stream….

One year ago this week I sat under my large tree and talked to my friend Tonya. She told me stories of the man she was divorcing and described the collection of child pornography discovered on his computer. I finally told her to stop. I could not hear it.

Today we visited IM. Last year she moved out of town. She continues in her decade long attempt to reform him and give him the unconditional love and support she thinks will fix him. He continues to reoffend. As always I wished her well. My advice would be  as always unheeded and unwelcome. She is having a heavy dose of radiation therapy to stop her growing cancer in her body.

At this time of year one year ago, my friend Ray returned to my life after  almost 20  years. Although, I didn’t realize it at the time, he was saying goodbye. At the end of October 2005, he committed suicide. From time to time I still play chess with his brother my ex fiancée. We reconnected  (never again to be more than friends) when he called me to tell me about Ray.

In the early eighties, Ray came to me with his 5th step.  He revealed his part in the death of a teenager due to a drunk driving accident years before. It was one of the things we talked about some 2 decades later…..I was surprised to realize that over the years carrying his secret had changed me in ways I could not fathom .

Today I still cry…and I am not big on crying, at his ending.. I think that reconnecting with his lost soul and losing him, without being able to help him, was part of the reason for the things that have transpired in my life the last 12 months.

On October 2, 2005 I  signed up on Blogstream. Since I came here I have been waking up….I want and need to thank you all for this journey.

We choose our joys and sorrows long before we experience them.

Energy Healing or Reiki Don't Lose That Number

Reiki (pronounced ray-key) is an ancient Japanese word that means universal life energy. This energy flows through all living things.  Reiki is a powerful healing technique. It usually involves the laying on of hands to transfer energy. It strengthens the immune system and  balances the charka as well as bringing peace, balance and harmony.

Reiki is thousands of years old and was recently bought to the west. Reiki belongs to no religion.

I just got a call from my friend Lea. She does Reiki on my Mom every Friday. Tomorrow she is going to do Reiki on a white Bengal Tiger. If not for my softball tournament I would go with her.

I hope she is very careful with that tiger....because if I survive 3 games of softball I am going to need her services!
