Second Chances

 Words Touch

Other people's pain drives me crazy. I almost feel it. Because sometimes, I feel mine later or maybe not at all. In 1985, or so I went into a parking lot and threw a glass mug. It was an experiment. When the mug shattered I was supposed to feel a relief and it was a way to vent these "just below the surface" feelings I knew were there......The mug bounced, but did not break.

I retreived the mug and drank coffee from it the next morning.

Go figure......

You Were Born to Dance or Frogs Can't

Peachy said "Frogs can't dance"
Whit said " You were born to dance."

My goodby to frogs, snakes, and ghosts.....

The Frog and the Snake
played by the lake

They called out my name
Come play our harmless game

Choose me cried the frog
as he bounced on a log

Choose me to play
Hissed the snake where he lay

This may be my last chance
I smiled "I was born to dance"

The evil snake raised his head
and he tried to strike me dead

Not this time, Mr Snake
I struck a fatal blow with my rake

Come frog it's time to play
Let's dance into the day

The frog only shook his head at me
and said I wish I could set you free

Sorry that you took a chance
Frogs can't dance

Note: I really don't have any snakes, frogs, or ghosts in my life right now.... Sometimes I just like to play

 Beware the Snake or Sometimes

The snake was beautiful
and seemed so kind.
He was orange with a sunlight shine.

I never believed the stories were true
I denied that evil existed
till the snake bit you

Fool me once shame on me
Goodbye snake
Now I believe

Note: Sometimes I just feel like sticking my tongue out...

Fear of Falling or Colo on the Ground

So I was walking through a parking lot at a fast rate of speed and the mailman came around a car........Boom I trip and skidded across the ground. Funny thing was that when it happened I was thinking about my falling dream.

Anyway, I tore up my pants and blood is pouring out of the open wound on my knee and the whole thing strikes me as funny. The mailman was kind of cute. He was wearing one of those safari hats and trying to pick up my keys and my purse. So I jumped up then bent down to help him with my purse just as he raises up and we bump heads. Then I help him up.

By this time, we're both laughing. He insists I need help to Indian Shopping Center Owners office and off we limp. His name is Gary. He seems nice. No ring but he has married stamped on his forehead.

Not to decide is to decide. I haven't called John and I haven't heard from him in weeks. The thing is I really love John. And I really love to dance. John is understanding but not supportive. And I think I needed him when Sami was in crisis. I have a feeling that John is dancing with someone else these days. And I should be jealous, or filled with middle aged angst, or something. But although it's tugged at me a little I haven't even been moved to call him.

Richard from Maine calls all the time. We took Sami to a meeting and he was really kinda clumsy and endearing. My ex-fiancee, who I should get rid of, but don't is working on all the little problems I have with my plumbing. He has replaced plumbing in one of the bathrooms and is starting on the other sink. I hired a new handyman (instead of John) to do some repairs at the center this weekend.

I really am kinda macho about pain. I washed off my leg. Indian guy is a Dr. and he was recommending stiches and trying to apply ice. But I am a fast healer. I'll be dancing again in no time.

Hiding Out or Waiting for My Prince

Thanks Rita B for reminding me!!

I am buried in a good book.
I am hiding on a blog.
I am lurking in dark shadows,
so I never heard your call.

Someday my prince will come.
Please God don't send another frog.
